The Steyr TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) like most modern designs, is made largely of synthetic materials. It has an appearance of a large pistol except that the magazine protrudes beneath the butt and a fore grip is found under the fore-end. It is chambered for the 9mm Parabellum round.
In Cowboy Bebop, this machine-pistol seems to be largely used by members of the Red Dragon Mafia only. Perhaps they value the type's handiness, large magazine capacity and compact design which aides in concealed carrying of the weapon.
